This workshop introduces students to digital sculpting and 3D design through the creation of articulated “flexi” forms. Led by artist and educator Jeffery Hampshire, participants will learn core modeling tools in Nomad Sculpt, experiment with segmented shapes, and explore how articulation can be built into digital designs. Students will experience both 3D modeling and the basics of FDM 3D printing, gaining an understanding of how digital decisions shape the final object. Each participant will receive a 3D-printed flexi piece and resources to continue learning beyond the workshop. Ages 12+ · All materials provided. Artist Bio: Jeffery Hampshire is a digital artist whose work explores space, memory, and the translation between physical and virtual forms. His practice spans 3D scanning, digital sculpting, and interactive technologies, with a focus on how digital tools can expand access to creative expression. Jeffery is currently an MFA candidate at the University of Maryland and teaches courses in digital media and 3D fabrication. CADKreations: CADKreations is an educational initiative founded by Jeffery Hampshire. The program provides accessible, mobile workshops in digital sculpting, 3D modeling, and creative technology for art centers, community programs, and educational spaces. ADA ACCESSIBILITY & ACCOMMODATIONS:
Our classrooms are ADA accessible. Some courses may involve tasks or activities that may be difficult for individuals with limited strength, difficulty bending over, and sitting or standing for long periods of time. We are happy to work with students to find solutions to make their experience positive and doable. For example, wheel throwing takes arm strength and bending over the wheel. Students may work on hand-building projects instead of throwing. Please reach out to our office to discuss your needs.
