Join this fun TEENS ONLY group for an in-depth introduction to throwing on a pottery wheel. Learn the 3 basic steps of throwing and concepts behind vessel formation and material understanding. Come for the experience! It’s tricky… but you’ll have fun getting messy!
Completed projects are fired and glazed by staff and are usually ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks. Students are responsible for assuring their artwork is gathered by the pickup deadline.
Please be aware the medium of clay is very technical and ceramics mishaps and breaks can happen. We do our best to protect your artwork but there is no guarantee it will come out undamaged or how one may have imagined it.
Pop up classes do not include access to open studio hours in the ceramics area, only regular session ceramics classes offer that option.
Safety Warnings and Attire:
Ceramics studios can be messy business, please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a water bottle and apron if you prefer. Slip proof and closed toed shoes are recommended. Very long nails will make it difficult to throw on a pottery wheel and can become unsafe. We do not encourage learning how to throw on a pottery wheel while having long nails, but we will work with you if you have them.
