Ceramics I: Beginning

Welcome to Ceramics!

In this beginning to intermediate class, students of any skill level are invited to learn the foundations of working with clay. Students can expect to participate in a series of guided projects that will support the learning of methods in wheel throwing (centering, pulling, and vessel formation) and hand-building (pinch, coil, slab). After initial demonstrations, students may also work freely on their own projects. Additional instruction will be woven into lessons to build knowledge in the areas of surface treatments, function, design, and expression.  

Note: A materials fee of $45 will be added upon checkout. Any additional bags of clay will also cost $45. This fee covers not just clay but glazes, firings, waxes, and more.
