Instructor: Kindra Fehr
Supply List:
Paper: 140 Pound Cold Press, Rough, or Hot Press Paper. 10 x 14 or larger pad. You will need about 16 pieces.
BRUSHES: FLAT: ½”, 1” ROUND: 6, 10
LIDDED PALETTE: Find something with at least 12 color boxes & sufficient (large) mixing areas. Inexpensive plastic is OK, but not too flimsy.
PAINT: Get the best you can afford. I use Yarka, Daniel Smith, Holbein, or Winsor and Newton. I use both pan colors (cakes) and tube colors. When I travel, I tend to use pan color sets. While you can mix most colors from the 3 primaries: Quinacridone Red, Winsor Blue, Winsor Yellow (a good basic palette) I tend to use: 2 reds, 2 blues, 2 yellows, 2 greens, 2 browns. White Gouache I use Alizarin Crimson, Scarlet Red, Ultramarine Blue, Winsor Blue, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Yellow Light, Viridian Green, Hookers or Sap Green, and Burnt Sienna, Mineral Violet. Optional Colors: Cobalt Teal, Quinacridone Burnt Orange, Peacock Blue, Carbazole Violet, Neutral Tint. I sometimes paint with Crayola or Prang Semi-moist Watercolor Sets. I find these adequate, but you will go through the paint rather quickly, so I would recommend 2 sets.
MISC: Heavy Absorbent Paper Towels; Water Container; Micron pen (black) Sizes .005 and .01, Mechanical Pencil, Kneaded Eraser, Yellow Frog Tape, Board to tape your paper to.
