Have you always wanted to add people (figurative) to your work? This class will start off with the basic 'gesture' of the figure. We will discuss motion, action line, proportions, and body rhythms to describe what the person is doing. We will work from reference and practice each week on capturing the gesture quickly. Next a section on head drawing will be included, and finally we will draw from clothed live models. A great all around instruction for those wanting to improve their people rendering. Mediums will inlcude pencil, charcoal, and oil paint, or your medium of choice.
This class is taught in English.
We will NOT have class the week of Thanksgiving.

Our classrooms are ADA accessible. Some courses may involve tasks or activities that may be difficult for individuals with limited strength, difficulty bending over, and sitting or standing for long periods of time. We are happy to work with students to find solutions to make their experience positive and doable. For example, wheel throwing takes arm strength and bending over the wheel. Students may work on hand-building projects instead of throwing. Please reach out to our office to discuss your needs.
