Description

Fun experiential learning in the medium of water-based clay. Kids can follow fun prompts and instruction to advance in spatial reasoning while practicing traditional hand-building techniques of coiling, pinching and slab-building. Specific projects vary from one 12-week session to the next.

Jump on into this kids only ceramics class for some messy fun and tactile learning with varied stoneware clays. With us, kids will have the opportunity to advance in dexterity, spatial reasoning, and problem solving through participation in instructor supported projects. Each project will encourage working three-dimensionally while offering playful and sometimes, very silly prompts. Traditional hand-building techniques such as pinching, coiling, and slab-building will be taught to aid in making a range of functional and sculptural forms. Projects will vary from one 12-week session to the next, allowing for kids to return with their friends and learn the power of practice by building upon their abilities while exploring new ideas.
